HOW TO CELEBRATE “PAY YOUR BILLS” WEEK

It's that time of year again - Pay Your Bills Week is here! From February 5 to 11, we're reminded to take a closer look at our finances and make sure that all of our bills are being paid on time. With the economy the way it is, it's easy to feel stressed about money. But by setting up systems to pay our bills, we can make the process a lot smoother and less stressful.

One of the most important things to keep in mind when paying bills is making sure they're coming out of the correct account. You don't want to accidentally pay a bill from your personal account instead of your business account, or vice versa. By keeping track of which bills should be paid from which account, you can avoid any confusion or mistakes.

So, take some time during Pay Your Bills Week to review your finances and make sure everything is in order. Set up a schedule for when you'll pay your bills each month, and stick to it. By making bill payment a regular part of your routine, you'll be less likely to forget or miss a payment. And by keeping track of which account the bills are coming out of, you can avoid any confusion or mistakes. Trust us, it's worth it!

If you need help understanding which business pays which bills, contact your CSA. If you don’t have a CSA, reach out to Daniel McCraine, National Sales Director at danielm@prattandlefevre.com or by calling 833-772-8848, x. 709

IS THE IRS COMING FOR YOU?

As you're probably aware, the IRS has recently received more funding through the Inflation Reduction Act. This means the IRS is going to be increasing its scrutiny of businesses, as well as improving computer service and customer service. Some have said that because the IRS is hiring 87,000 more employees that they will all be auditors. That is a fallacy. According to P&L’s tax institutes to which we belong, the increase in those making less than $400,000 will increase based on historical levels about f fold. Historically less than 1% of these taxpayers have been audited. This means the change could increase audits up to 4% of these taxpayers. The main areas of concern are individuals with annual earnings of $400,000 or more, S Corporations, and partnerships. During this Pay Your Bills week, it's important to make sure that your business is in compliance with all tax laws and regulations. The O.N.C.E. strategy from Pratt & LeFevre protects you and your business from increased IRS scrutiny. The strategy ensures that you are paying the right amount of taxes in the right way.

Don't let this increased scrutiny catch you off guard. Contact us at Pratt & LeFevre to learn more about the O.N.C.E. strategy and how it can benefit your business.

WHO DO YOU KNOW THAT NEEDS PROTECTION FROM THE IRS?

As already mentioned, the IRS is getting more funding to go after businesses that aren't operating properly. It's more important than ever to make sure all small businesses are in compliance with all tax laws and regulations.

At Pratt & LeFevre, we want to help as many business owners as possible stay in compliance with the law. If you know any business owners who may benefit from our services, please refer them to us. Not only will you be helping a fellow business owner, but also you may receive a referral fee if they sign up for our services.
